Wellington, Colorado
Why We Love Wellington
Nestled in the plains at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Wellington has gone from a quiet, agricultural hub to one of the faster growing cities in Northern Colorado in recent years. It is known as “Colorado’s Northern Gateway,” as it sits between two state capitals: Cheyenne, WY and Denver, CO. With an abundance of new construction and growing town amenities, Wellington has become a popular choice for Northern Colorado homebuyers who want to escape the bustling cities and steep price points of the rest of the region.
Throughout the 1800s, Wellington was used as a stopping location for travelers and military moving between Cheyenne and Fort Collins. It became an official town in 1902 named after C.L. Wellington, an employee of the Colorado and Southern Railroad. It was incorporated in 1905.
Some of Wellington’s best amenities include a number of breweries, the Mountain Vista Golf Course, and a growing downtown. The town is also just minutes away from the various activities available in Old Town Fort Collins.
